Regional Civil (Structural) Engineer

The Dow Chemical Company has an opportunity for a Regional Civil (Structural) Engineer located in Carrollton, KY. The Civil Engineer role acts as a technical resource for their discipline within the Global Project Methodology (GPM) work process for the successful implementation of detail design modifications associated with small improvement projects, or portions of the detail design within larger capital projects under the direction of the Design Engineering Lead for their discipline.
The Civil Engineer is fully qualified as proficient in the application of Engineering skills for their discipline and independently applies this knowledge in practical applications. This role provides a technical resource to lead project teams and/or to provide expertise in specific fields, tools or theory. Leads the coordination with the global discipline technical experts to ensure Dow's Most Effective Technology (MET) Standards and/or best practices are applied and/or variances are indicated and worked through in a timely manner. Drives variances to MET where value could be leveraged. At this experience level the Civil Engineer acts as a Lead Design Engineer for intermediate improvement projects, or portions of the design within larger capital projects under the direction of the Lead Design Engineer.
Core Responsibilities:
Applies Global Project Methodology (Global Project Methodology) and Discipline Engineering Work Process Discipline
Ensures that the project scope is well defined and meets the business needs in a cost effective manner
Ensure that the process design is safe, meets DOW Loss Prevention Principles (LPP's) and other EH&S requirements
Drives project execution within their discipline
Provides input to project schedule and plans, then monitors progress against the plans
Ensure discipline design deliverables for their discipline meet the needs of the project functions as intended, on time and within budget
Identifies technical problems and appropriately engages the business tech. center and Subject Matter Expert (SME) network to resolve
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree with a discipline in Civil Engineering is required.
A minimum of 6 years of manufacturing or engineering experience is required.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six Sigma Green Belt Project Leader or Black Belt Certification is preferred.
Experience leading teams is preferred.
Experience in managing the deliverables needed to prepare project estimates and schedules is preferred.
Construction, Operations and/or Commissioning and start-up experience is preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
