Regional World Class Manufacturing Champion - East

Utilizing WCM principles and practices the Regional World Class Champion drives overall education and deployment of World Class Manufacturing to US plants as well as the advancement of the NA Cost Reduction pillar. The position ensures rapid pace of implementation without compromising the quality of WCM standards. This is a key developmental position in succession planning for plant manager with in the organization.

+ Is knowledgeable of and performs all work in accordance with CTG health & safety rules and practices.
+ Continually drives safe behavior by performing SMAT?s, TASK audits and risk assessment when on site.
+ Complies with environmental standards performing EMATs as needed.
WCM Leadership
+ Provide demonstrable leadership of the WCM program in our US plants to ensure WCM is implemented at a rapid pace without compromising the quality of WCM Standards through:
+ Development of Plant Leadership teams in the WCM philosophy and tools
+ Assist plants in development of clear value add route maps to achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold.
+ As a WCM Subject Matter Expert, provide training, support and direction to plant management teams to help them identify, analyze, and solve operational problems
+ Play a lead role in conducting WCM technical/business reviews assisting the plants to deliver their annual business plans
+ Track key performance indicators (KPI?s) relative to the WCM program across the region and report cumulative progress to the local Management Team and North American WCM Champion
+ Identify continuous improvement opportunities to the overall strategic direction of the North American WCM program
People Development
+ This position plays a key role in the training & development of plant site Continuous Improvement Mangers and other plant pillar leaders.
+ In coordination with the US Training Champion and utilizing accepted best practice adult learning techniques, assists Continuous Improvement Managers in the development and delivery of efficient and effective WCM Program and tools training in the areas of:
+ Introduction to World Class Manufacturing including:
+ General Philosophy
+ Basic Tools
+ Foundational Systems
+ Safety & Environment
+ Risk Identification and assessment
+ SMAT?s
+ Focused Improvement
+ Success Sheets

NA Cost Reduction Pillar Champion
+ As NA Cost Reduction Pillar Champion ensure:
+ Develop sustainable training strategy for the Gypsum Cost Deployment Model
+ Overall GXO data integrity and resulting stratification
+ Use of data to drive the continuous improvement effort forward at the local level
+ Aid in the optimization and use of GXO from both a user interface and systems use standpoint
+ Support key must win projects for individual plants that support overall US Policy Deployment.
+ Work as necessary with HR to link training activities to individual development plans.
+ Bachelor?s degree in engineering or science or equivalent experience.
+ 3 - 5 years manufacturing experience
+ Superior interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), strong team player
+ Proven application of WCM tools

+ Strong organizational and problem solving skills
+ Basic Process Knowledge

+ Minimum 3 - 5 years prior experience in multi-plant support function responsibility or a plant manager role is strongly preferred
+ Clear demonstration of manufacturing leadership success
+ Internal candidates need to demonstrate successful completion of the WCM Instructors course as well as ongoing use of WCM tools with in their current role.
+ Basic Gypsum Process Knowledge
+ 2-4 years prior experience with heavy travel (60-75%) strongly preferred
Will normally fly on airlines and use rental cars during travel. Requires wearing personal protection equipment as mandated in areas accessed. Plants vary, requiring considerable walking and may have some access limitations such as stairs, confined areas and rough terrain. Occasional lifting of 75 lbs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
