None Class Characteristics:
Under general supervision, performs accounts receivable duties for the utility; schedules service orders; serves as Receptionist; assists other departments as requested; performs related work as required.
General Duties and
Responsibilities:
Essential:
1.
Assists with preparing utility bills, checking for accuracy, printing bills, and mailing to customers on regularly scheduled basis.
2.
Accepts payments at window, from walk-in customers, and received by mail; issues or mails receipts; matches payments and stubs; posts to customer accounts; balances cash drawer.
3.
Signs customers for new service and/or utility taps; receives deposits from new customers; processes new accounts.
4.
Prepares bank deposits and delivers to bank daily.
5.
Greets customers in person and via telephone concerning a variety of matters.
6.
Assists with monitoring delinquent accounts; prepares and mails final- disconnect letters; ensures all extensions are paid on-time; orders monthly cut-offs for non-payment.
7.
Determines penalties and posts to customer accounts.
8.
Assist customers with sign-up for payment plan when necessary.
9.
Assists with preparation, distribution, and recording of required records and reports.
10.
Types correspondence, letters, memorandums, envelopes, reports, etc.
11.
Assists with maintaining filing system.
12.
Accepts inquiries, complaints, and/or problems of customers and forwards to higher authority.
13.
Assists other departments as requested.
14.
Maintains computer backups.
15.
Assists with maintaining inventory of supplies 16.
Prepares work orders.
17.
Runs errands.
18.
Maintains computer system, including hardware and software; uses system in performing daily duties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Training and
Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent; no previous work experience requirements.
Bachelors or Associates degree in Accounting or Computer Information Systems preferred, but not required.
Advancement to Customer Service Representative II requires meeting minimum training and experience requirements, recommendation of the Director of Finance, and approval of the General Manager.

Work is reviewed daily through cash balances, reports, etc.

There is not a choice in standard procedures.
Physical Demands of the Job:
Work is predominantly performed indoors at a desk or table.
Intermittent standing, walking, stooping is required; must lift objects weighing less than 25 pounds.

Certification/Training Requirements:
Must have completed How to Prevent Accidental Ignition training, or must complete the training during the first year after appointment to the position; must complete follow-up training every three (3) years as required by the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
