Operations Manager

Chemical Plant needs an Operations Manager to supervise and optimize plant production. The Operations Manager will have strong supervisory skills, a BS Chemical Engineering and working knowledge of the chemistry, batch cycle times, and required chemical and plastics process equipment to optimize plant production and ensure sales requirements are met. The Operations Manager will be a technical subject matter expert, reporting to the Plant Manager, and able to act as a backup to the Plant Manager. This is a Direct Hire Career opportunity in Kentucky. Responsibilities for the Operations Manager
Supervise plant production utilizing manpower, equipment and raw materials in the most effective and efficient manner to maintain budget, without injury to employees and while in environmental compliance.
Work with business units to develop dual manufacturing and business strategies that meet or exceed business goals.
Ensure emergency preparedness and safe and environmentally responsible operation.
Perform reviews of work areas for potential losses and loss control opportunities.
Develop and implement programs to utilize personnel, equipment, and materials to produce quality products at the lowest cost.
Requirements for the Operations Manager
Requires BS Chemical Engineering, strong leadership skills and an extensive background in chemical and plastic plant operations and production with at least 5 industrial and supervisory experience.
Must have the skills and experience to evaluate chemical and plastic plant process yields, material usage efficiency, cycle times, capacities and asset utilization
Understanding of Federal and State EPA regulations and understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations
